ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

As a critical part of the Engineering team, the Electrical Engineering Technician assists the engineering and production departments with a focus on sustaining existing products and processes, and transitioning new products into production. In addition, the Electrical Engineering Tech supports production needs for quality and process improvements as well as periodically assisting with research and development of new products. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct responsibility to assist with day-to-day needs from the manufacturing floor, as a part of the Engineering team.
  • Work with Engineers and Production department on product maintenance.
  • Participate in project teams and activities related to new product development.
  • Create documentation for vendors and production.
  • Provide technical support to Sales Representatives, Customers, and Field Service Technicians as needed.
  • Develop manufacturing and testing procedures for electronic and mechanical prototypes and designs. 
  • Initiate and carry out Engineering Change Notices. 
 

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Ability to build prototypes utilizing documentation and testing utilizing a ‘common sense’ approach.
  • 2-year technical degree with a specialty in Electrical Technology or Mechatronics.
  • Experience with C programming (embedded), VFD programming, microprocessors (Renesas) desired. 
  • Strength in both mechanical and electrical concepts. 
  • Experience with fabricating, 3D printing, or PCBAs a plus. 
  • Experience with Solidworks or other 3D CAD development tools desired. 
  • Ability to translate technical details into production documentation, to assist with the manufacturing of DL products. 
  • Organized and self-motivated. Able to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Effective time management skills; ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

The Electrical Engineer is a key member of the Engineering Team. This position is the lead Engineer for electrical products, information management of electrical documents, databases & schematics, management of programs on the production floor, and R&D. The Electrical Engineer has a variety of responsibilities that are integral to the Engineering Department. In addition, the Electrical Engineer performs a lead role on new electrical product development and sustaining manufacturing.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Must have a strong understanding of electrical concepts and manufacturing processes. 
  • Able to read, write, and analyze electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. 
  • Possess a broad knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specifications codes and handbook formulas along with working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, Motor Control, and Power Distribution. 
  • Create new programs for existing and new products. 
  • Work proactively within the department to anticipate potential issues and provide solutions. 
  • Read and produce electrical design, schematics/wiring diagrams, bills of materials, printed circuit board gerber plots and assembly drawings. 
  • Program circuit boards. 
  • Program PLCs for both products and test circuits.
  • Handle service calls. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing problems. 
  • Managing test reports, ex. ETL.
  • Submit products to Safety Agencies for compliance evaluations. 
  • Create documentation for vendors and production, including installation guides and user manuals. 
  • Assist in ensuring quality for new products and assemblies. 
  • Provide support to Sales Representatives, Customers, and Field Service Technicians with both electrical application and installation questions. 
  • Conduct on-site customer installation and support as needed. 
  • Initiate and carry out Engineering Changes. 
 

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Solid experience in C, C++ programming languages required. 
  • Must be experienced in producing both electrical and printed circuit board design. 
  • Experience programming microprocessors, ARDUINO, Raspberry Pi, PLCs, etc. is a must. 
  • Minimum 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 
  • Experience with Solidworks or other 3D CAD development tools is recommended. 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the electrical field in industry. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with project management. 
  • Occasional Travel.

LEAD INSTALLATION/SERVICE TECHNICIAN

The Lead Installation/Service Technician will be involved with the following tasks:

  • Handle jobsite installation of all products sold by DL Manufacturing
  • Oversee and train sub-contracted door installation crews.
  • Manage service crew members on jobsite.
  • Customer interface on all jobsites.
  • Work with Field Service Manager on installation/project schedule.
  • Support Sales Reps and Customers as needed.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Ability to travel out of state.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • 2-4 years light duty construction/installation experience.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to drive various lifts at a jobsite.
  • Ability to lift heavy product and use heavy tools.
  • Welding experience.
  • Ability to think and react quickly, strong organizational & problem-solving skills.
  • Sound decision making skills in a fast paced environment while managing time critical situations.

PRODUCTION ASSEMBLER

DL Manufacturing is seeking a self-motivated Production Assembler.

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

The Production Assembler is responsible for assembling various products, accurately and efficiently, & preparing these for shipping. Looking for full-time & part-time Assemblers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • – Assemble DL Manufacturing products using hand-held or power tools.
  • – Program and/or test control boards.
  • – Report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
  • – Prepare products for shipping.

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE :

  • – Able to use various hand-held, cordless and air operated tools.
  • – Lifting up to 49 lbs.
  • – Able to stand for up to 90% of the work day.
  • – Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • – Valid Driver’s License.

Hourly wage with benefit package including dental, medical, vacation and 401K.
